I had the absolute worst experience with Bob's Lil Car Hospital. My 17-year-old son took his car in to get some professional help with a major issue we were having. The car would constantly stall out and die, no matter what we did. We tried everything from getting new batteries to replacing the alternator, terminal leads, fuses, and relays, but nothing worked. We were at our wit's end, so we decided to take it to Bob's Lil Car Hospital, hoping they could finally figure out the problem. What a mistake that was! Not only did Bob try to cut corners, but his temporary fix didn't even hold up long enough for us to get the car back home. What's even worse is that when we contacted him about the issue, he refused to take any accountability for his shoddy work. He wouldn't even help us with the cost of getting the car towed back to his shop. Now, we're out $500, we still have no car, and we're no closer to figuring out what's wrong with it. It's beyond frustrating to have put all that time and effort into trying to fix the issue ourselves, only to have Bob's Lil Car Hospital make things even worse. I would never recommend this place to anyone. If you're looking for a trustworthy, reliable mechanic who actually cares about his customers, Bob's is definitely not the place to go. Save yourself the hassle and find a different shop.
We understand auto failures can be confusing and frustrating. We did have your 87 Mercury Sable towed back to us with our tow service provider with the understanding that our repair had failed and that it would be under our warranty. However, after testing, we found that the alternator you had installed had failed. Unfortunately, we cannot warranty any parts we did not purchase and install. We did test the charging system for you at no charge and told you that you need to replace the alternator again. Your vehicle is 27 years old and unfortunately that can lead to random breakdowns which we understand is very stressful. We hope you can get your vehicle repaired under whatever warranty your parts supplier has for your defective alternator. We wish you the best of luck.
